Residents of Puerto Vallarta experienced a tense and alarming morning after multiple vehicles were set on fire and tire-spike devices were scattered across several key areas of the city.

According to initial reports, at least eight vehicles were deliberately burned along the highway to Mismaloya, near a gas station in that area. The incidents prompted a significant response from police forces and emergency crews.

In a separate event, a public transportation bus was positioned across Libramiento Luis Donaldo Colosio Avenue, near the Mexican Red Cross at the entrance to the El Caloso neighborhood, partially blocking traffic and causing confusion among motorists.

Additional reports indicated vehicles burning in other parts of the city, while metal tire-spike devices were discovered scattered in areas including the International Convention Center district, Tondoroque, and near the central bus terminal.

Municipal and State Police, along with other law enforcement agencies, have launched an active operation to secure the affected areas, remove the hazardous objects, and restore traffic flow.

As of now, authorities have not reported any arrests nor confirmed the motive behind the incidents, although it is believed the events may be connected.

The city remains under heightened security presence as officials urge residents to exercise caution and avoid the impacted roadways.
